About me

Hi! I’m Remo and I started running in September 2017, at 40, after quitting 25+ years of heavy drinking and smoking.

In the following 6 months I joined the Austin Distance Challenge, here in Austin, TX, and ran 6 races, including 2 half-marathons and the Austin Marathon in February 2018.

That same year I started running on trails, and ran my first ultramarathon and my first skyrunning race, both 50K distances.

In 2019, while running 8 ultramarathons, including my first 50 mile, 100K and 100 mile distances, I became certified at the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Corrective Exercise Specialist.

I also graduated at the Primal Health Coaching Institute, founded by Mark Sissons, as a Primal Health Coach, further expanding my knowledge and passion for primal and ancestral nutrition and lifestyle.

More recently, I studied at the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA) and became certified as an Ultrarunning Coach, with a new course developed in collaboration with Jason Koop, one of the leading coaches and author in the endurance and ultrarunning fields, and as an Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach.

After running more than 30 100+ mile races in a variety of terrains and conditions, from the desert in Arizona, to the mountains in Colorado, to the hot pavement in Florida (I do love hot weather races), I’m currently training for many more 100 mile and 200+ mile races.
